Health in the Mountains – Health in the Hotel

The mountain region hides real treasures underground. One of them is the Gasteiner Heilstollen healing mine. The combination of high air humidity, heat, and rare radon gas inside the Radhausberg mountain in Bad Gastein is unique in the world.
Thanks to its proven effect as a natural analgesic, radon therapy helps with skin, respiratory and musculoskeletal disorders and chronic pain. Radon also has anti-inflammatory effects and stabilizes the immune system.

After a 2.5-kilometer journey, guests find themselves deep inside the mountain. The therapeutic section of the healing tunnel comprises a total of five stations. There are loungers available for visitors to relax on while the radon is gradually absorbed into the body through the skin and lungs.

From a medical point of view, a treatment period of two to four weeks is recommended, with patients visiting the healing tunnel three to four times a week. The treatment is complemented by other active and passive therapies in the healing tunnel or directly at the PALACE hotel. Treatment in the healing tunnel is recognized by a number of Austrian health and pension insurance companies.

Radon baths

Thermal radon baths right in our PALACE hotel

As an effective alternative, you can try a thermal radon bath right in our PALACE hotel.

The first bath is available at any time as a "taster". From the second bath onwards, a prescription from a spa doctor in Gastein is required.

Based on the relevant medical prescription, up to 6 radon baths per week (except Sundays) can be taken.
